Completing the foundations for a brand new primary school
Challenges
The most challenging aspects of this project was managing the amount of people. As it was a large site, with many trades working simultaneously, there was never a quiet moment.
Seer completed most of the Groundworks package including excavations, foundations, drainage, hard landscaping and retaining walls for the project. Seer also created the MUGA pitch for the children to be able to enjoy their sports.
The original school was demolished, so our employees and sub-contractors put in extra hours to allow for the timely completion of the project, so the children could start term in their brand-new school.
As a commercial building situated on the side of a hill, substantial details were designed for the runoff of storm water, so swales and large attenuation tanks were installed. Similarly, 8 substantial retaining walls were installed by us, including five reinforced concrete retaining walls, one king post retaining wall, one gabion basket retaining wall and one Terramesh retaining wall.
We purchased a Gator to go from one end of site to the other, because the project was so big.
We completed 5 reinforced concrete retaining walls, 1 king post retaining wall, 1 gabion basket retaining wall and 1 Terramesh retaining wall.
